Charlottesville, Va. (AP) - A Staten Island, N.Y., man faces up to 20 years in prison for supplying the synthetic drug known as "bath salts" to a video store operator in the Commonwealth.

The government Stephen Dominick McFadden, 52, was found guilty late Thursday on nine counts related to the delivery of the synthetic drug that mimics the effect of cocaine. A federal jury returned the verdict after a four-day trial in Charlottesville.

Law enforcement officials said McFadden was the primary source of bath salts for a local distributor and the former owner of the video store where the drugs were delivered. Prosecutors say the Charlottesville supplier, Lois McDaniel, has already pleaded guilty to drug conspiracy charges.

A sentencing date has not been set for McFadden. He also could be fined $1 million.
