Richmond - Lynchburg's Cornell Brown, former Roanoke College All-American player Frankie Allen, and the Voice of the Hokies Bill Roth are among the Class of 2013 who'll be inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame in April.

The selections were announced Monday at the General Assembly in Richmond.  Brown, the one-time E.C. Glass Hilltopper, earned All-America honors for Virginia Tech in the mid 90's and played for the Baltimore Ravens.

Frankie Allen, one-time Hokies basketball coach, is the all-time leader in points and rebounds in Virginia history playing for Roanoke College.
And Bill Roth, 10-time Virginia Sportscaster of the Year, is in his 25th year as play-by-play man for Tech football and basketball.

Cornell Brown, 2013 HALL OF FAME CLASS, said "Exciting, great moment, great time for me right now to be honored this way in your home state.  You know that's a big honor for me.  Really culminates, you know, over time what I've done and able to be able to be a part of something like this."

Frankie Allen, 2013 HALL OF FAME CLASS, said "This is the single biggest honor, individual honor, I've ever received and I'm truly, truly elated over being a part of the Class of 2013."

Bill Roth, 2013 HALL OF FAME CLASS, said "I've been lucky to have been at Virginia Tech during a time when we've won a lot of football and basketball games.  And it's been a tremendous period of on-field and on-court success.  And so to be around at Tech at this time and to broadcast to our passionate fans has been a real honor."
