Westbrook Makes All-Star Team

Posted: Updated:

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook was named a reserve on the Western Conference All-Star Team, the NBA announced today.

In his fifth NBA season, Westbrook is currently averaging 22.7 points (7th in NBA), 8.1 assists (5th in NBA), 5.3 rebounds and 1.91 steals (5th in NBA) in 36.5 minutes per game.

Westbrook is set to make his third straight All-Star appearance where he will join teammate Kevin Durant on the Western Conference All-Star squad. During last season's All-Star game in Orlando, Westbrook finished with 21 points to go along with five rebounds in 28 minutes of action.

The former UCLA product has appeared in 355 consecutive games (longest streak in the NBA) and he is currently on pace to become just the fourth player (joining LeBron James, Chris Paul and Gary Payton) in the last 20 years to average 22+ points, 8+ assists and 5+ rebounds.

The 62nd NBA All-Star Game will be played at Toyota Center in Houston on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013. The city previously hosted NBA All-Star in 1989 and 2006. The All-Star Game, broadcast exclusively on TNT and live on ESPN Radio, will collectively reach fans in more than 220 countries and territories in more than 40 languages.
