Lynchburg, VA - A small area of rain is likely to develop after midnight Sunday night and last for a few hours, into the Early Morning on Monday.

Because many surfaces are very cold, and temperatures are below freezing, the moisture will fall as rain, then re-freeze after making contact with elevated surfaces like decks, porches, sidewalks, along with bridges and overpasses.

Not much moisture is expected from the system, but it doesn't take a much in the way of ice to make for a dicey early Monday Morning commute for some.

The National Weather Service has issued a FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY for most of the ABC 13 Viewing Area from 1 AM Monday through 10 AM.

The latest model data into the ABC 13 Weather Center suggests most of the freezing rain will take place between midnight and 5 a.m. Monday.

Either way, take caution on the roads if you plan on being out late Sunday Night or very early on Monday. We will likely see conditions improve by mid-morning Monday.

Stay with ABC 13 and www.wset.com for the very latest.

ABC 13 Meteorologist Lyndsay Tapases will have complete updates starting at 5 a.m. on Good Morning Virginia.
