Richmond, VA - A local teen is getting her second chance to get up close and personal with Richmond lawmakers.
Halifax County High School student Heather Griles is in Richmond working as a head page for the General Assembly. Griles got to be a part of the page program last year and was given the opportunity to return to oversee the other 38 pages.
She says she is learning a lot about policy-making and meeting lots of new friends.
"I'm really glad I did it, because it's a once in a lifetime experience, and I got to do it twice," Griles said.
She and the other pages will be back at school when the seven-week program ends on February 23.
