Lynchburg Gets its First SAARA House

Posted:

Lynchburg, VA - This week the first SAARA House in Lynchburg opened its doors, and ABC 13 got a tour of the Diamond Hill home Wednesday.

SAARA stands for the Substance Abuse and Addiction Recovery Alliance. The home will house eight men involved in the program's Pier-Support Recovery Model. The home, built in 1915, underwent $97,000 in renovations.

Program manager Greg Kelley says it's a good environment for men recovering from addiction.

"It's really important to have people come where they can live with and be around other people in recovery doing so it's safer that way; whereas, if they are just out there and doing this, there's a lot of space to go off in the wrong direction," said Greg Kelley, program manager, residential, SAARA.

There are seven spaces left. If you are interested, you can call Greg Kelley at (434) 455-0053 or (434) 942-5925 or Jay Williams at (434) 229-4946.
