Dave's proposal plans started with the search for the perfect ring. Sarah had always been close to her father who had passed away when she was younger. With the permission of Sarah's family members, Dave received her late father's ring. He found an extremely professional jeweler to hand craft Sarah's favorite engagement ring style.
It was April 7th and their mutual families were in town for Easter weekend, or so Sarah thought. We planned a nice dinner at Robin Alexander's where the families met for the first time. After dinner everyone planned to go to Mr. Goodies for ice cream. However, a few minutes into the ride Dave, pulled out a green blind fold. Dave told Sarah to put it on. Once the blindfold was in place, Dave drove Sarah to a park near 221.
There waiting was a lake with a dock. Sarah's favorite movie at this point in time was "Tangled." In this movie there is a scene where the two main characters are in the middle of this lake surrounded by thousands of Chinese floating lanterns. While Dave didn't have thousands, he did have about 100. With Sarah now positioned to see all of her lanterns, Dave took off her blind fold. With the sunset approaching, Dave took Sarah's hands in his, and there on the dock surrounded by lanterns, Dave asked Sarah to marry him.
