Galax, VA - A Galax man says he was just going to pick up a soft drink on his way to work, when he bought a Win It All lottery scratcher.
Lottery officials say William Jones won the top prize of $200,000.
"I knew it was a winner, but I figured maybe five or ten dollars," Jones told Lottery officials as he claimed his prize. "I took it to the clerk and said, ‘Am I looking at this right?' She said, ‘You sure are!'"
Jones bought the winning ticket at Kangaroo Express, located on South Main Street in Galax.
Jones works at a furniture manufacturer and says he plans to save his winnings for retirement.
This is the third top prize claimed in Win It All, which means two top-prize tickets remain unclaimed.
