Man Feared of Jumping into James River Arrested

Lynchburg, VA - Officials from several jurisdictions were on-hand canvassing the bridge over the James River in downtown Lynchburg, for what they believed was a missing person.
They found the person's vehicle parked on the bridge.
About three hours into their investigation, they located the person, and the search was called off.
Police say Andy Yancey, 21, has been charged with domestic assault and battery, and strangulation of another person.
Police say those charges are from a fight that happened before Yancey was thought to have jumped off the bridge.
Yancey was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital to undergo a mental health exam.
