One Person Injured in Roanoke Fire


Roanoke, VA – Fire officials say one person was injured during a fire in Roanoke Wednesday night.

Firefighters responded to the structure fire on Chapman Avenue about 6:15 p.m. and say they found heavy smoke.  Officials say one of the residents had to be taken to the hospital for burns and smoke inhalation.

Four people were displaced by the fire.  The Red Cross is assisting them.

Damage to the structure is estimated to be about $59,000.
