A Tulsa woman is now behind bars, accused of dialing 911 a total of 59 times. Police say it could've meant life or death for someone in a real emergency.
Now, just like every inmate here at the Tulsa county jail, Regina Kay Sanders is on restricted phone calls. She is accused of calling 911 workers over and over again for 8 hours.
46-year old Sanders now faces accusations of interfering with emergency phone calls and a charge of harassing 911-operators. She's accused of calling them and telling them, "my job is to harass you B******," according to court records, calling them a bad word.
A friend says Sanders was upset that her sons wheelchair had been towed with a car, during a traffic stop.
"But prank calling police, I don't think that was her intention. It was to see what was going on with her son being left on the curb, without his wheelchair. He wanted his wheelchair," said Covelle Cotton, a neighbor.
Police say that was the wrong way to get attention.
These are misdemeanor charges, but Sanders is being held on $45,000 bond.
