In the VHSL Division 1 state quarterfinals at VCU, Altavista won by 20 points over Colonial Beach 56-36. The Colonels will face the winner of Saturday's game between Clintwood and Northwood.
LCA defeated St. Catherine's 62-38. LCA will play Paul VI at 5 p.m. Saturday in northern Virginia for the VISAA Division I state championship.
Covington lost to Castlewood 52-47 in the VHSL Division I state quarterfinals.
Floyd County rolled into the VHSL Division 2 semis, winners 74-46 over Gate City.
Westover lost 51-30 to Shenandoah Valley in the VACA state semifinals at Westover Christian in Danville.
