Lynchburg, VA - Twenty-three Lynchburg firefighters who died in the line of duty will be added to a memorial in Richmond.
The Virginia Public Safety Foundation announced Tuesday that their names will be added to a list of more than 700 men and women across Virginia. The names were added after the initial announcement as a result of ongoing research.
The last Lynchburg firefighters to die in the line of duty were in 1975. The Public Safety Memorial is going to be constructed this year at Capitol Square in Richmond.
