Richmond - The Salem girls made it to the state semis for the third straight year and UNLIKE the past two seasons, the Spartans WILL play for a state title.
Salem took down Loudoun County Wednesday. In the first half, Salem's Maddie Price goes over the defense and connects with 1st Team All-FCP candidate Tay Taylor for two of her 14 first-half points, Salem up four at the break. The Spartans took control the second half and led by as many as 21. Tessa Foley added six points and 15 rebounds, Taylor scored 24.
DeWayne Harrell, SALEM HEAD COACH, said "They missed a lot of shots and hopefully that was because of our defense, but we did a good job pressuring them outside."
