Tulsa County deputies have arrested a man Thursday afternoon after his pit bull reportedly attacked his roommate in Sand Springs.
Gary Brashier, 53, was taken into custody by deputies Thursday on complaints of an animal at large and eleven outstanding warrants for various other crimes.
According to the release from TCSO, Brashier is the owner of a pit bull that attacked Jeremy Byrd and left him with injuries to both of his arms.
"When I first grabbed the dog off of Jeremy and had my hand around its throat and got my other hand behind its neck, the dog had started to turn its body and that's the point that I realized if I let the dog go, it was going to try and attack me. I just dropped my weight on it," neighbor Larry Tessier said.
Deputies reported that Brashier became evasive when they questioned him about the unrestrained canine. They were able to determine that he had multiple outstanding warrants.
Brashier will be taken to the Tulsa County Jail. An investigation will continue whether he will be charged for maintaining a dangerous dog.
