
Lynchburg - Guilford's Drew Crawford held Lynchburg without a hit until the fifth inning, throwing eight strong innings of five-hit baseball to lead the Quakers past the Hornets 8-1 Wednesday afternoon at Lynchburg.
Guilford scored one in the first, three in the fourth, then two more in the seventh and ninth innings to build a commanding lead of 8-0. The Hornets avoided the shutout, scoring one in the ninth. Lynchburg and Guilford are both 9-and-8 on the season and 2-3 in the ODAC.
Lynchburg returns home Saturday for a doubleheader against Virginia Wesleyan College scheduled for noon.
