Danville, VA -- A house in Danville has caught fire twice in less than 24 hours. The Fire Department responded to a call around 8:30 Friday night for a fire on Oakland Avenue.
They quickly recognized the abandoned house as the same one they went to early Friday morning. Fire officials say it took less than 20 minutes to put the fire out.
Assistant Fire Marshal, Richie Guill, said both fires were intentionally set. Now, they are working to prevent any more fires to this home.
"We'll step up patrol. We'll make sure, we work really close with the police department and we'll make sure they will keep an eye on it all night tonight and other times," said Guill.
Guill said people should not be concerned about arson at their house, he suspects it is likely contained to this home.
