JMR Graphics, a nationwide car wraps manufacturer, responds to new ordinance banning advertising vehicles in Burbank, California.
Central Islip, (PRWEB) March 18, 2013
On March 18, nationwide car wraps manufacturer JMR Graphics releases a statement in response to an article detailing a ban on vehicles mainly used for advertising.
According to the Los Angeles Times, a new ordinance created by the Burbank City Council attempts to reduce blight by banning free standing vehicles with advertisements. After a parked van advertising topless maids caused a big safety controversy in the city last year, local officials decided to initiate a ban on vehicles whose sole purpose are to advertise.
Senior Assistant City Atty. Joe McDougall said to the Los Angeles Times that the ordinance will prevent vehicles from parking on the side of the street with signs bolted to the sides or leaning against it.
Los Angeles Times reports that these types of advertising vehicles pose serious safety risks to Burbank citizens because the signs could fall into the street while driving.
Though these types of unsafe advertising vehicles are prohibited in the ordinance, McDougall says it does not regulate content on mobile advertising vehicles.
Representative TJ Pannell from JMR Graphics, a nationwide car wraps manufacturer, says the best way to advertise on a car is to invest in a vinyl wrap. “The businesses that use these makeshift signs to advertise might benefit from purchasing a custom vinyl car wrap,” he says. “The wrap is adhered to the car, so there is no chance of it peeling off or becoming a safety hazard. The wraps are made special for each type of car and can really expand your influence in the area. More people will see the ad as you drive around and it wouldn’t be banned under the ordinance.”
Pannell says JMR Graphics creates bold, eye-catching advertisements that raise awareness for brands. “We can take an old sign that was banned under the new ordinance and turn it into a bright, clean vinyl mobile vehicle wrap that look professional and should yield results,” he says. “If you want to step up your advertising game, I would suggest contracting a graphics company like JMR Graphics to design your wrap.”
Violators of the new ordinance will be fined $250 to $1,000 or even jail time depending on the severity of the violation reports Los Angeles Times.
