Cathi Cohen, LCSW, CGP, director of In Step, a mental health practice located in Northern Virginia, has released her latest eBook – a step by step guide to improve parenting skills and help parents create a more peaceful environment in their home.
Fairfax, Virginia (PRWEB) March 18, 2013
In Step, one of the leading providers of mental health therapy in Loudon County, Virginia and throughout the Washington D.C. metro area, has introduced its latest eBook “I’ve Had it! Six Surefire Ways to Keep the Peace At Home” – a six-part series for parents.
The eBook, written by In Step Director and experienced mental health professional Cathi Cohen, LCSW, CGP, builds on In Step’s already expansive programs designed to help parents, children and every member of the family.
Cohen’s Stepping Stones program is a custom-designed social skills group program focusing on helping both children and parents improve their communication and interpersonal skills. “The key advantage to our counseling is that we get the entire family involved. In our Stepping Stones program, both the children and parents are placed into groups. This allows fellow parents to discuss issues with each other and learn from each others’ experiences, as well as follow the progress of their children.” said Cohen.
“I’ve Had It! Six Surefire Ways to Keep the Peace at Home” is divided into six parts. Parents who want to improve the communication in their home can visit In Step’s website to sign up for the eBook series and receive one chapter each week, including interactive worksheets to test their newly found knowledge and apply the skills that they have learned. “These strategies take practice. The worksheets allow you to identify your own personal parenting challenges, plan your own step by step program and implement newly learned parenting skills. A core aspect of our service is support for parents, and this eBook makes our knowledge and experience accessible to parents outside of the Washington DC area.”
“Mastering parenting skills can be hard work. By releasing one chapter at a time, you will have a chance to get comfortable with each strategy before adding a new one.” said Cohen. “We encourage parents to contact us if they are in need of mental health services. While our eBook is packed with great information, it is no substitute for working directly with an experienced mental health professional. We encourage our readers to find a licensed clinician in their local area if family concerns persist."
