Lynchburg, VA - The federal government has delayed a decision on closing the Lynchburg airport tower.
The FAA was supposed to finalize the tower closing list Monday and announce the closings on Wednesday.
Lynchburg Regional Airport Manager Mark Courtney says the FAA will now make that announcement Friday, due to the high number of appeals from airports.
Lynchburg filed an appeal last week, to keep the tower open. If that appeal is denied, the Lynchburg tower will close next month.
