All you jazz lovers, don't miss Friday's show at The Ellington. The Lew Taylor Quartet will be on stage at 6:30 p.m. The Lynchburg native brings funk and jazz with a great band made of local musicians. Of course, you can enjoy wings and good company. That's $10 at the door.

Friday also kicks off play, "The Living Cross" in Lynchburg. Hyland Heights Baptist Church is celebrating 25 years of the musical drama. The play will be on at the church the next TWO weekends. That's $5.

The Lynchburg College baseball team is having Kids Run the Show Night at Lynchburg City Stadium Friday at 5 p.m. It is free attendance and the kids would have the opportunity to announce hitters as they come to the plate. There are going to be free coloring pages and educational materials for the kids as they enter, and goodie bags will be given out as the game ends. Admission is free to everyone.  Nathan Norman, the 6-year-old Rustburg boy fighting cancer that the baseball team adopted is throwing the first pitch.

On Saturday, Jefferson Forest High School is having its annual Soccer Fest. The school's soccer team will be there for a day filled with activities and prizes. Bring your kids to the fields where they can learn some new soccer tricks and take part in fun games. That's 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

And if your kids are ready for Easter, there is an egg hunt in Salem. Children ages 3 to 10 can come out to Longwood Park Saturday. The Easter Bunny will be around giving out candy. There will also be games and food samples for everyone. That starts at 1 p.m.
