Roanoke Co., VA - Experts say that people who do are 23-times more likely to get into a crash.

To drive that point home AT&T and Drive Smart Virginia have been making their way around the Commonwealth to show students just how dangerous it is.

David Tate spent the morning at Hidden Valley High School where the "It Can Wait" tour made a stop Thursday.

While many have seen a variety of driving simulators before, this particular learning device is a little different as it allows students to take the risk of texting and driving without being at risk.

AT&T set up in the Titans' Field House where classes rotated through the exercise one at a time.

Several students say they knew people who have problems texting and driving; some even saying that educational presentations like this are valuable in helping kids understand the dangers.

"In the past it was such new technology that nobody really realized what an issue it would be. Now it's such a big part of our lives that were are more often commonly told, you know, you shouldn't do that," said Hidden Valley senior, Rachel Morris.

This three day swing through Virginia also included stops in Ashland and Falls Church.
