Henry Co., VA – Henry County officials arrested a man they say had been wanted for several different charges and had been evading arrest for more than a year.
Derrick Antonio Hunt, 25, of Martinsville, was arrested after officials from the Henry County Sheriff's office found him hiding in a closet in an apartment in Ridgeway.
Hunt had outstanding charges in Henry County for felonious assault, robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Hunt was also arrested on the following Martinsville City charges: Malicious Wounding, Attempted Robbery, Use of Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, Discharge Firearm in a Public Place, Possession of a Firearm by a convicted Felon, Possession of Scheduled II Drug, Possession of Firearm While in Possession of Scheduled II Drug, Possession of Firearm with a removed serial number, Probation Violation, and Failure to Appear.
In addition to these outstanding charges Hunt was also charged with giving false identity to law enforcement by Henry County. He is being held in the Henry County Jail with no bond.
