Abortion Rights Advocates Send Comments to State Board
Thursday, March 28, 2013 7:28 AM EDT
Richmond, VA - Opponents of the proposed regulations for abortion clinics in Virginia are sending more than 3,000 public comments to the State Board of Health on Thursday.
The regulations would require abortion clinics to meet the same strict building standards as newly constructed hospitals.
Those standards cover things like doorway widths and room sizes.
Opponents say the expensive requirements would put most of the state's 20 existing abortion clinics out of business.
The board is scheduled to take a final vote on the regulations April 12th.
