Charlie Daniels Will Perform in Lynchburg Despite Hospitalization

Posted:

Lynchburg, VA - Country Music Legend Charlie Daniels is recovering after being hospitalized Thursday night. He had a pacemaker implanted.

The 76-year-old has canceled several performances, but according to concert organizers, the show here in Lynchburg will go on.

The concert is Phil Vassar's annual benefit for the Miller Home for girls. Fans are crossing their fingers Daniels will make it.

"He was lookin' for a soul to steal. He was in a bind, way behind, wheelin' to make a deal," sang Jesse Woodall, a fan.

Woodall is a lifelong Charlie Daniels fan. He calls Charlie's music inspiring.

"He put a lot of his life in his music and then you can take that for example and use it in your own life."

He's been counting down the days to the Miller Home benefit concert. Hearing of Daniel's recent hospitalization has him concerned.

"I've talked to a lot of people around here and I know they'd be hurt if he doesn't."

According to the Miller home, there's nothing to worry about.

"He will be in Lynchburg on April 11 with Phil Vassar," said Stacy Garrett with Miller Home of Lynchburg.

The Miller Home received a press release from Nashville on Friday. He has canceled some shows and his first time back on stage will be here in the Hill City.

"The Miller home just continues to be blessed and we want to wish Charlie Daniels a speedy recovery and we look so forward to him being here in Lynchburg on April 11th," said Garrett.

The concert is being held at Phase 2.
