Roanoke Co., VA - The Democratic candidate hoping to fill Governor Bob McDonnell's position this fall was in Roanoke Tuesday meeting with business leaders.
Terry McAuliffe, who ran an unsuccessful campaign against McDonnell in 2009, took some time to visit Optical Cable in Roanoke County, among other stops.
McAuliffe says the point of his trip was to listen to ideas for helping to bring good-paying, 21st Century jobs to the area if elected governor.
"Listen... to me a job is not a red job or a blue job. There is no such thing as a Democrat or Republican job. It's all of us working together. As Governor I have to help every part of the state. If every part of the state is doing great, everyone benefits from that," said McAuliffe.
McAuliife's opponent is Republican candidate, Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli.
