Charlottesville - Monticello High School in Charlottesville introduced Jeff Woody Friday afternoon as new head football coach of the Mustangs.
Woody takes over the Monticello job after last year's coach Rodney Redd stepped down to become a defensive backs coach at Virginia State University in Petersburg. Woody goes to Monticello after winning back-to-back state titles at Brookville, the Bees 40-and-2 under Woody the past three seasons.
Jeff Woody, NEW MONTICELLO HEAD COACH, said "They heard it today. The goal is to be the best we can possibly be and the best team in the state of Virginia. And hopefully that means 14-and-0 but that's easier said than done. You've got a whole lot of work to do, you don't want to put the horse before the cart."
