Montgomery Co., VA – The suspect in Friday's shooting at New River Valley Mall appeared in court Monday morning.
Neil MacInnis, 18, appeared at his arraignment hearing in Montgomery County General District court. He is charged with two counts of malicious wounding and two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
Police say MacInnis walked into the New River Community College location at the mall Friday afternoon and opened fire. They say Taylor Sharpe and Kristina Bousserghine were taken to local hospitals where both are in stable condition.
Classes are canceled at the main and satellite campuses of New River Valley Community College Monday and Tuesday.
MacInnis will be back in court June 18th for his preliminary hearing.
