Injured Woman Rescued From Sharp Top Mountain


Bedford Co., VA – First responders rescued a woman who was hurt and stranded on a Bedford County mountain Tuesday afternoon.

The woman was hiking down Sharp Top mountain and had only made it about 20 minutes from the top when she lost her footing on the trail, according to Bedford County Fire and Rescue. The woman's leg was broken and dislocated.

It took a rescue crew about 2.5 hours to climb the mountain and bring the woman down to an ambulance.
