Need A Reptile Incubator? Tulsa's City Surplus Auction This Weekend

Posted: Updated:

Former police cars will be part of nearly 2,000 items up for bid this weekend.

It's the annual City Surplus Auction.

The highest bidders can go home with items like furniture, lawnmowers, pianos, computers, trailers, former city trucks, and even a dump truck.

Most are items no longer needed by the city after making upgrades or items confiscated by police.

And sometimes they seem a little unusual.

"This time I have a tattoo kit," says Sandra Banks, City of Tulsa surplus coordinator. "I have lots of jewelry. I have a crossbow. I think that may be the first crossbow we've ever had."

Some more strange items?

A reptile incubator, a large aquarium, and a hardwood gym floor.

They'll even have the banners that were used to promote the Conference USA Championship and the Bassmaster Classic up for bids.

Last year, the event brought in $1.5 million.

The preview is Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The auction starts Saturday morning at 9:30 at 108 North Trenton.
