GOP Ticket Tours Virginia

Posted:

Roanoke, VA - The GOP ticket continued its tour of Virginia Monday, stopping in Roanoke.

Around one hundred people came out to welcome the trio as they make their way through ten stops over three days.

The tour began yesterday and continued today with stops in Richmond, Roanoke, Harrisonburg, Martinsville and Abingdon.

The message of the tour is to rally the base by touting a pro-business approach.

"So we're going to try to close down loopholes and exemptions to fund cutting taxes on businesses and burdens on families so you all can make the decisions and not your government," said gubernatorial candidate, Ken Cuccinelli.

Attorney General candidate, Mark Obenshain says he plans on helping small businesses by continuing Cuccinelli's efforts against the EPA and other programs he considers to be intrusive.

"I promise you I'm going to continue to stand up against ObamaCare. We're going to stop it in its tracks," said Obenshain.

There was also a counter demonstration by Occupy Roanoke members.

The tour wraps up tomorrow with stops in Lynchburg, Charlottesville, Winchester and Fredericksburg.
