God's Pit Crew Heading to Oklahoma

Posted:

Danville, VA -- God's Pit Crew has been hard at work collecting supplies. They're packing up and plan to head out first thing Wednesday morning.

They say from the reports they've gotten, this sounds like it could be one of the worst disasters they've responded to in its history.

So, today volunteers packed up tractor trailers full of bottles of water, blessing buckets, tools, and other supplies. They plan to take five trucks and 20 volunteers to Oklahoma and stay there at least 2 weeks.

You may remember how God's Pit Crew sent help to Texas last week because of tornadoes there. Well those crews were on their way back when they got the call about the need in Oklahoma. They stopped at a partnering organization to load up on supplies and are also are heading to Oklahoma. They say this will likely be just the beginning.

"We can hear in the voices of the people we've talked to out there. You can sense just how massive this is by the tone of their voice," said Randy Johnson, Executive Director of God's Pit Crew.

God's Pit Crew says the best way to help them help the victims is by giving monetary donations. You can donate at http://godspitcrew.org/

They will also have a collection site at Danville Toyota as well as the Bonsack Walmart in Roanoke starting Wednesday.
