A Bixby man is in jail this after officer responded to his residence where he was booked on complaints of kidnapping and domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor after an argument with his wife.
Bixby Police arrested Matthew Colclough, 30, after holding his wife and child against their will at their apartment. The incident apparently originated with an argument involving Colclough's mother-in-law.
KTUL's community newspaper partner the Bixby Bulletin writes that Colclough told his wife that she needed to choose between him or her mother, and if she wasn’t careful, someone would have a bullet hole, according to his arrest report.
Colclough's wife told police she was scared for her life because he owned a handgun in the home. She also told police Colclough was taking several medications for depression and pain, according to the report.
During the argument earlier this week, the fighting escalated and couple’s 2-year-old daughter was knocked down. Later, Colclough slung a coffee pot with it landing at the wife’s feet, she told police.
Colclough was held on $26,000 bond at the Tulsa County Jail. He is due in court at the end of this month.
