During this Memorial Day weekend, many families are spending time on the water. At Keystone Lake, a new marina called The Harbor is now open for business and it's bringing more people to Mannford.
There are 138 boat slips and 75 percent of those are already rented out. For some of the boat owners they were looking for a new place.
"I had my boat at another marina and it was kind of tired and rundown and I decided to move it somewhere and this place looked like the place," says Phil Hatfield.
In the coming year there will be around 450 slips for boaters and even after one day this new marina is seeing the benefits.
"It had to be a record setting day on the lake as a marina. We ran as if we were a two or three year old marina," says marina manager, Matthew Hibbing.
Even though it's just the first weekend the boaters already have some expectations.
"I expect some entertainment once in a while I expect there to be fuel food and nice people," says Hatfield.
Hibbing says being just 20 minutes from Tulsa is making it easier for people to head this direction. They are glad they could partner up with the City of Mannford to bring some sales tax to the area. The city has already seen the demand and are ready for the rest of the boating season.
"I went home last night even though it was midnight I still couldn't fall asleep because i'm just excited about what's happen thus far and what's going to continue to happen," says Hibbing.
CrossTimbers The Harbor Marina is located at 1989 CrossTimbers Harbor Lane Mannford.
