REGION 3 BOYS SOCCER: 

 E.C. Glass 2, Jefferson Forest 1 - Nick Larson, Henrik Larsvik (ECG): Goals; Matthew Crider (JF): Goal.  Glass led 1-0 at the half, Larsvik's goal 15 minutes into second half made it 2-0.  Crider scored with less than four minutes left to slice deficit to 2-1.  With the win, Glass wraps up a state tournament berth and spot in Friday night's 7 o'clock region championship game against Turner Ashby, that game will be played at Waynesboro High School.  Glass improves to 18-1-and-1 on the season.

Turner Ashby 4, Lord Botetourt 3 (OT)

 

REGION 3 GIRLS SOCCER:

Jefferson Forest 1, Lord Botetourt 0 - Riley Lee (JF) scored in the 14th minute and that goal stood for the rest of the game.  JF earns automatic state tournament berth and advances to region title game Friday night, 7:00, at Lynchburg City Stadium against Northside.

Northside 1, Harrisonburg 0

 

REGION 3 BOYS BASEBALL:

 Amherst County 4, Turner Ashby 1 -  Jesse Stinnett (A): 5-Hitter, 9K, Lancers earn automatic state tournament berth and advance to Friday's 7 o'clock region title game at Forest Middle School against Alleghany.  Amherst improves to 23-and-0 on the season with the win.  Turner Ashby scored first in the 2nd inning, but Amherst took the lead for good with three runs in the 4th.  The Lancers added an insurance run in the sixth for the 4-1 final.

Alleghany 9, Staunton River 5 - Staunton River jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first only for Alleghany to answer with five runs in the bottom of the frame.  The Mountaineers scored four more in the 4th.

 

REGION 3 SOFTBALL:

Broadway 19, Jefferson Forest 4

Fort Defiance 6, Rustburg 0  - Broadway and Fort Defiance play for region title, JF and Rustburg finish their seasons
