The Tulsa Drillers stretch their winning streak to four games with Wednesday's 11-1 victory over Northwest Arkansas. Tulsa has won their last two games against the Naturals in two very different ways. On Tuesday the Drillers used just two hits to plate 5-runs in a 5-3 win. The home team connected for 14-hits in Wednesday's 11-1 victory.
Kyle Parker gave the Drillers a 3-0 lead in the 3rd with a 2-run home run over the wall in left. It was his 11th homer of the season. They added three more runs in the fifth off a couple of base hits from Kyle Roling and Angelys Nina.
The Naturals scored their only run of the game in the 6th when Brett Eibner hits a solo shot to left. But Tulsa answered with four runs of their own in the bottom half of the sixth.
Tyler Matzek (2-5, 4.37) got his second win of the year. He pitched six strong innings giving up just the one run on four hits.
The Tulsa win keeps the Drillers just 2 1/2 games out of first place in the North Division behind Arkansas. They are one game back of Springfield for second.
This series moves to Springdale, AR for Thursday's game three. The First pitch is set for 6:00pm. Then it returns back to Tulsa's ONEOK Field on Friday.
