Big Island Wins Legion Opener 8-6

Forest - Now that the high school season is complete, American Legion baseball has returned for the summer.  Big Island won its season opener at home against Christiansburg 8-6 Friday night.

Quentin Palmer had a big night at the plate for Big Island, driving in four runs.  Christiansburg led 4-3 in the fourth after Tyler Morgan plated two runs with a gapper to right center.

But Big Island answered in the 5th.  Quentin Palmer ripped a double and the home team goes on to win 8-6.  Big Island is back in action this Sunday at home.
