Route 29 Reopens After Car Accident


Lynchburg, VA - The southbound lanes of route 29 in Lynchburg have reopened after a car crashed into a light pole.

Police say at around 1:15 a.m. Monday, a car was heading south on 29 when it veered to miss an animal.

Police say the car hit a guardrail then struck a light pole near the Odd Fellows Road exit.

Police say the female driver was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be okay.

No word on charges.
