Hillcats Open Second Half with 5-4 Win


Lynchburg - The Hillcats turned only five hits into five RUNS Friday night and Lynchburg opens the second half with a 5-4 win over Winston-Salem. 

Fresh off winning All-Star Game MVP and Home Run Derby honors in California, Robby Hefflinger went long again Friday night.  Hefflinger belts his 19th of the season, a two-run shot in the third inning.
         That tied the game at four after the Dash erupted for four runs in the top of the inning, Grant Buckner belted a three-run homer followed by a solo shot from Josh Richmond.
          It stayed 4-all until Will Skinner later hit a solo homer in the sixth.  Greg Ross made his first appearance out of the bullpen with four scoreless innings to get the win.

Lynchburg won the opener of the three-game series, game two is Saturday night at 6:05.
