Alton, VA- An organization in our area is raising money in hopes of reopening one of their branches that they had to close because of water damage.
Patrick Henry Family Services provides homes for youth who aren't able to live with family, and have been housing young boys in A historic house in Cluster Springs for 40 years.
A couple of months ago they had to close the home because of water damage and several other things that needed repair.
On Thursday they held an open house today to raise money to renovate the home.
"We take care of children who just have no where to go because of family circumstances, life situations, sometimes because of their behavior or perhaps the behavior of their family, they need to be separated for while and so we provide a safe haven," said Robert Day, Executive Director of Patrick Henry Family Services.
The organization hopes to raise $80,000 to $100,000.
