Former Lynrocten Accounts Being Reimbursed
Monday, July 1, 2013 7:29 AM EST
Lynchburg, VA - Members of the Lynrocten Credit Union are starting to see their former accounts paid back in full.
A spokesperson for the National Credit Union Administration says another 1,500 accounts at Lynrocten have been paid back.
He says more than $2 million has been returned to members.
Now, nearly 180 accounts at Lynrocten are waiting for reimbursement, with a collective balance of about $7 million.
The credit union was shut down in May after fraudulent loans were taken out in its members names without them knowing about it.
