Update 2:30 p.m.:

Botetourt Co., VA - The Botetourt County Sheriff's Office has identified the man they say drowned Thursday morning.

His name is Craig A. Ricker, 42, of Buchanan.

Deputies say Ricker was trying to unstop a culvert near his home on Mount Joy Road, when the rake he was using broke, and he fell into the water.

The current started to pull Ricker into the culvert.

Then his wife jumped in to try to save him and she got pulled in. It took her about 10 minutes to get herself out and get to the house call 911.

A swiftwater rescue team was called to the scene about 4:45 a.m., but Ricker had already drowned.
