Four others are two shots behind at 7 under. That group includes Ben Curtis, Greg Owen, Jonas Blixt and first-round co-leader Tommy Gainey who slipped to a 71 Friday.
Phil Mickelson shot 2-under 68 Friday, but couldn't dig out enough from Thursday's 74. Mickelson finished two rounds at 2-over and missed the cut by three shots. It marked the first time in his career that Mickelson has missed three consecutive cuts at the same tournament.
