Pittsylvania Co. School Board Will Apply for School Security Grant

Posted:

Pittsylvania Co., VA - The Pittsylvania County School Board is taking another step to amp up school safety.

At a meeting Tuesday night, the board voted to apply for a $100,000 grant to install keycard entrances at all elementary and middle schools in the county.

High schools there already have keycard entrances as a way to monitor who comes in and out of the building.

The grant money is part of a $6 million fund set aside by Governor McDonnell to increase safety in Virginia schools.
