South Boston Home Saved from Fire by Patrolling Policeman

South Boston, VA - A South Boston family is glad they made it out of their burning house thanks to a fast-acting police officer.

Officer Wayne Bush was patrolling a neighborhood Saturday when a resident alerted him to smoke coming from a home on Marshall Avenue.

When he arrived, he notified the homeowners who were inside, unaware of the fire that was pouring from the attic.

Firefighters arrived on the scene at 12:26 PM and were able to contain the fire to just the bedroom and bathroom.

That fire is still under investigation.
