Agreement Reached in Sale of WSET

Lynchburg, VA - WSET is closer to having a new owner.

In May our parent company, Allbritton Communications, announced it decided to sell its seven ABC affiliates.

Monday, we learned Allbritton has reached an agreement to sell all of the stations to Sinclair Broadcast Group for close to $1 billion.

The actual transfer of control will not take place until the sale has been approved by the FCC, which could happen by December.
