Former Amherst Co. Quarterback Kyle Edwards Charged in Gladys Stabbing

Gladys, VA - Former Amherst County High School quarterback Kyle Edwards has been charged in a stabbing in Gladys from earlier this month.

Edwards posted a $10,000 bond Tuesday.

The 18-year-old was a junior last year for the Lancers.

ABC 13 has confirmed that Edwards left the school on May 31.

The stabbing was early in the morning of July 13 in the 1200 block of Crows Road.

The Campbell County Sheriff's Office says Michael Nichols, 52, was stabbed in the stomach and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Sheriff's Office says the victim was holding a get together with about 100 people.

Edwards is in court for a bond hearing Tuesday, and ABC 13 has a crew there.
