Survey Hopes to Help Brand Danville

Posted:

Danville, VA - Danville is trying to better brand itself and they are asking for your help.

With all of the improvements to the River District, the city hopes they will soon be able to attract more people.

Danville is hoping the 22 question survey will be able to open their eyes to the public's opinion of the city.

Danville's economic development team created the online survey to find what residents and tourists have to say about the city.

"[To] get a true opinion of what locals think about the area, development taking place in the River District," said Project Manager Corrie Teague.

With the information from the survey, the team wants to brand Danville with logos, a tag line, and various other marketing strategies.

"It will give one look and overall feel for the area. You want someone to say 'when I think of Danville I think of this.'," Teague said.

The questions range from how likely you would be to recommend living or visiting Danville.

"I would give it maybe a five," said Danville resident Dylan Jolley.

"I don't know if we are that noticeable outside," said Louann Long, who works in Danville.

"It's not really booming right now but as you can see the construction is getting us there. They are trying to restore a few things," Jolley said.

Jolley recently moved here to the Danville area. He hopes that initiatives like the survey will continue to grow the city.

"I want to live in a place that I love and enjoy and can tell people to come and hey check this out, hey look at our new downtown, hey look at our businesses," Jolley said.

Ideally, the survey's creators want the campaign to bring in more tourists, businesses, and residents to Danville.

"That's bringing money into our area," Teague said.
