Ken Cuccinelli Speaks About Jobs & Uranium Mining During Danville Visit

Posted:

Danville, VA - Dozens of people woke up early Thursday morning to show their support for Republican Ken Cuccinelli.

The gubernatorial candidate stopped by Mary's Diner in Danville at 8 a.m. for a town hall meeting.

Cuccinelli spoke about his plan to bring jobs to Virginia. He also took questions about his opinion on uranium mining.

Cuccinelli said he is not against the idea of mining in Virginia if it can be done safely. He also said the recent controversy surrounding Governor McDonnell and those gifts he received from the Star Scientific CEO will open the door for ethics reform in Virginia.

"To talk about real gift caps and types of gifts, I think that opportunity exists now and I'm going to drive hard for it as the next governor," said Ken Cuccinelli, the Republican Gubernatorial Candidate.

Cuccinelli will meet with the Danville-Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce at 5 p.m. The event is open to the public, but you have to reserve a spot online to attend.

We will have much more on his visit on ABC 13 News at 6.
