HOMEWOOD - AL -

According to Homewood Police, Rev. Richard Shahan, the husband of Karen Shahan was held Wednesday night in the Homewood jail, after being questioned about his wife's death.

Lt. Ken Atkinson says Shahan came to the station voluntarily, Wednesday, and after that interview police decided to hold him overnight, with another interview to take place, Thursday. Shahan has not been arrested or charged in this case, according to Lt. Atkinson.

Karen Shahan's body was found July 23 inside the couple's home. Police have not released how she died. Richard Shahan was believed to be out of town during the time of her death.
